The Plugable USBC-HUB3P Aluminum USB-C 3-Port Hub with Pass-Through Charging allows up to three standard USB-A 3.0/2.0/1.1 devices to be attached to a host computer while simultaneously charging the host using its existing USB-C power adapter. The HUB3P is ideal for traveling due to it's extremely compact design and complements the MacBook Retina 2015 / 2016 perfectly while expanding the limited USB connectivity of the system by enabling up to three USB 3.0 or 2.0 devices to be added to the USB-C port. The hub supports USB 3.0 (3.1 Gen 1) transfer rates up to 5Gbps (640MBps) to allow data to move quickly between devices ideal for high-throughput devices such as USB external hard drives flash drives and USB graphics adapters.

Charging When the HUB3P is placed in-between a USB-C charger and a compatible host system like the Apple MacBook Retina 2015 / 2016 and Google Chromebook Pixel [2] 2015 that follow the USB-IF Power Delivery standard the hub will use the charger to power itself and any attached USB devices while simultaneously continuing to charge the host system. Please note that not all USB-C systems are compatible with the USB-IF Power Delivery standard even though they may charge through their USB-C port. When using the hub in combination with the host system's USB-C charger the hub will momentarily reset if the charger is connected or disconnected as the hub transitions from being bus powered (from the host USB-C port) or self powered (from the charger). This is in compliance with the USB-IF Power Delivery R2 V1.0 specification. All USB devices attached to the hub will momentarily stop working until the hub completes the power transition. Any data transfers to USB storage devices will be interrupted during this transition.
